Concealed Handgun License Instructors

All Inclusive, One Stop Texas CHL Class

The Texas Department of Public Safety specifies that Concealed Handgun License classes must be from 10 to 15 hours long, and that they must cover certain specific topics. But, the DPS does NOT specify that the class has to be boring!

Our classes are fun, interactive, and informative. If you are looking for a class taught by a drill instructor who will lecture you for 10 hours while you sit in a metal folding chair and take notes, then look elsewhere. This is not that class!

We use a combination of lecture, video, demonstrations, and interactive discussion to keep you interested and engaged. We teach you everything you must know to complete your application and get your license. We also include the things you should  know to be a responsible gun owner.

The class includes everything you need to get your license (except the money to the state!)  There are NO HIDDEN COSTS, NO HIDDEN FEES.  The charge for L-1 Digital Fingerprints ($9.95) must be paid separately to L-1, but prints will be taken during the class if you have scheduled your appointment for the class day.

Everything, other than fingerprinting, and the license fee to the state, is included in the class fee.  Printed applications, photos,  notary service, and range fees are all included.  We also provide a printed lesson plan that is yours to keep, as well as the CHL-16 Handgun Law booklet from Texas DPS, and pens, highlighters, coffee, doughnuts, lunch, drinks, and snacks.

Class topics include:

  • CHL Eligibility and the Application Process
  • Firearms Safety, Child Safety, and Range Safety
  • Effective Communication for Non-Violent Dispute Resolution
  • Legal Restrictions on Concealed Carry
  • Texas Motorist Protection Act (Carrying a Handgun in Your Car Before You Get Your License)
  • Situational Awareness (Staying out of Trouble)
  • Texas Penal Code - Chapter 9 - Lawful Use of Force
  • Texas Castle Doctrine Law - protection from civil liability
  • What to Do After a Shooting

We will walk you through the application process and make sure you have all paperwork filled out correctly before you leave.
You MUST register to guarantee a place in the class.
